2015 ROK Cup International Final: Saturday Recap

October 16, 2015 (Lonato, Italy) — Saturday’s racing consisted of the consolation Trophy Finals, the official driver presentation and then moved into the pre-finals and finals for the event before the prize giving and official party. The weather brightened up after a rainy week and everyone was racing on slicks for the day.

First up were the consolation Trophy Finals. In the ROK Cup Sparco Trophy final, OGP driver Morgan Healey walked away with the victory after a fantastic race battling for the top spot with Carlos Fonseca from Costa Rica. And in the Junior ROK T-Kart Trophy final, USA driver Jagger Jones took home the win.

The official driver presentation then took place on the track. Over 360 drivers competing the event walked the track by country as they were introduced. Lined up they nearly spanned the length of the straightaway as the crowds cheered. The drivers then headed up into the  grandstands for a group picture of all the drivers competing in the event.

In the finals, USA had 2 drivers reach the podium. OGP driver Austin Garrison took 4th in the Shifter ROK and Jak Crawford placed 3rd in the Mini ROK. Other notable finishes include 10th and 11th for OGP drivers Ryan Norberg and Kyle Kirkwood respectively in the Super ROK.

After the event concluded, drivers and teams were treated to a spectacular party where the official prize givings took place. ROK Cup staff truly made the entire event a memorable one for everyone, from beginning to end.
