2015 ROK Cup International Final: Friday Recap

October 16, 2015 (Lonato, Italy) — Friday kicked off the majority of the heat races for this weekend’s final, and the USA team made a strong showing with some fantastic results in the heats and overall positions moving into tomorrow’s final event.
In Mini ROK, Energy driver Jak Carlton finished P4 overall after the heats so he’ll start there for the pre-final. Benik driver Jonny Edgar was also fast throughout the heats and he’ll start P16 tomorrow. In Junior OGP drivers Matthias Ramirez and Anthony Gangi will start P27 and P30 respectively. Ryan Norberg from OGP starts the Super ROK final in P4, while Kyle Kirkwood will start from P9. Another OGP driver, Austin Garrison, ended the day just outside pole and will start tomorrow’s pre-final from P2 for Shifter ROK, while Canadian Dominic LeGrand is P9, AJ Myers is P25, and Brazilian Guilherme Jacob is P34.

Several drivers also made it into the consolation final which will also take place on Saturday. In Mini, Lachlan Defrancesco will start P4 and Luca Mars will start P14. In Junior Jagger Jones is just outside pole in P2, Trey Brown is P8, and Dylan Gennaro is P25. In ROK, Carlos Fonseca is P3, OGP driver Morgan Healey is P3, and Gonzalo Aponte is P14. In Super ROK, Ariel Castro will start from P11, and in Shifter ROK,  Brazilian Adriano Amaral is P10, American Tom Hankinson is P14 and Canadian Michel LeGrand is P18.
