2015 ROK Cup International Final: Thursday Recap

2015 ROK Cup International Final: Thursday Recap

October 15, 2015 (Lonato, Italy) — After Wednesday’s official practice day, Thursday’s racing took us into the qualifying
practice for all classes. While the rain has kept drivers on wets for most of the week so far, Thursday saw a break in the rain and most of the classes were back on slicks for qualifying.

Shifter ROK driver from Canada Dominic LeGrand was P4 in his group and P8 overall, while OGP driver Austin Garrison
was P7 in his group and P13 overall. Ryan Norberg from OGP came in P5 in his group and P10 overall, and Kyle Kirkwood, also from OGP finished P11 in his group and P24 overall. These two classes will battle it out in 3 heats on Friday.

ROK, Junior ROK, and Mini ROK all raced both a qualifying practice and heat today. In Junior OGP driver Matthias Ramirez was P17 in his group and P41 overall in the class, and in the 1st heat he finished just outside the top 10 in P12. In Mini, Energy’s Jak Crawford was P2 overall and P3 in his first heat. UK Benik driver Jonny Edgar took P3 in his group, finishing with a P6 overall. Going into his first heat, he was in a constant battle for the top spot and out in front for a good portion, eventually taking P2. All three of these classes will have 3 more heats tomorrow before we see who makes it into the final on Saturday.
