ROK Cup USA is proud to announce the appointment of Jonatan Jorge as the new Chief Steward. With an extensive background in motorsports as a driver, team owner, coach, and spotter, Jorge brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the ROK Cup USA officiating team.
A seasoned competitor, Jorge’s racing career has spanned more than two decades. He rose through the karting ranks before transitioning to open-wheel racing, where he competed in the Skip Barber National Championship and the Barber Dodge Pro Series, earning opportunities in professional sports car racing. Jorge later established himself as a respected driver coach, working with numerous young drivers, including Kyle Kirkwood and Pato O’Ward, on their path through the North American racing ladder.
“JJ is a tremendous addition to our officiating staff,” expressed Mike Burrell, ROK Cup USA Director of Operations. “He not only understands the technical and sporting regulations, but the first-hand experience JJ brings driving, coaching, and spotting will elevate ROK Cup USA and karting driving standards across the country. His perspective as a driver, coach, and mentor will help us ensure fair and consistent officiating across all our events. We are lucky and thrilled to welcome him as Chief Steward.”
Jorge’s reputation in the paddock is one of professionalism, fairness, and passion for the sport. His ability to balance strict enforcement of the rules with empathy for developing drivers has made him a trusted figure in North American karting, junior formula cars, INDYCAR, and IMSA.
“I am honored to take on the role of Chief Steward for ROK Cup USA,” commented Jonatan Jorge. “This program has quickly become the benchmark for karting in North America, and I look forward to working with Mike and the rest of the officiating team to maintain the highest standards of competition. I’ve been fortunate to experience motorsports as a driver, coach, and manager, and I’m excited to apply those experiences to ensure that every competitor has a fair and safe environment to race in.”
Jorge will begin his tenure at one of the biggest races in North America as the Chief Steward for the 2025 ROK Vegas event in just over one month’s time.
