As a strong proponent of 100cc racing, Formula Karting Championship is pleased to offer a pair of 100cc TaG classes. Offering both the Vortex ROK VLR and IAME KA100 engine platforms in two racing divisions, TaG 100 Ironman and TaG 100 Sportsman will join other touch and go classes such as TaG100 Junior, TaG100 Senior and TaG100 Masters.
“Our goal is to offer more versatility to the 100cc racing market in the Formula Karting Championship,” explained Series President Kalvin Chen. “We want to offer pure competition to the less experienced Sportsman 100cc drivers and the over 45-year-old Ironman drivers and an equal and level playing field for all, and I think it is a great program for the 100cc market in FKC competition. We will continue to support the KPV100cc program for those who aren’t ready for this change.”
To further support the growth of the 100cc program, the Formula Karting Championship is now offering a Vortex VLR100cc trade in program. Any driver, competitor, hobby racer, race winner or national champion who has a KPV100 or a Yamaha KT100 engine can now trade in a complete engine platform for a new Vortex VLR Engine package at an affordable price of only $1,350. The trade-in program will run from now until March 1, 2019.

- VLR Motor
- Tillotson HW38 Carb
- Digital Ignition
- Simplified Wiring Harness
- Battery with Battery Box and Mounting Clamp
- One-piece exhaust pipe featuring KZ style EGT bung pre-welded
- NGK B10EG spark plug
The next event on the 2019 Formula Karting Championship calendar is the first round of its three event weekend Championship Cup, which will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at the newly repaved Willow Springs Kart Track in Rosamond, California.
