With a successful launch in late 2017, the Karting Challenge of Florida at Palm Beach Karting is pleased to announce their 2018 program. As a Vortex ROK and Briggs LO206 program, the six race series will kick off April 8, 2018 and end the year with a fun, endurance style event to close the season during the championship award ceremony and dinner.
“The Karting Challenge of Florida is going to be big in 2018,” explained Palm Beach Karting’s Track Manager Luis Martinez. “In 2017 we started late and learned from our competitors in regards to what they want to see on event weekends. With more time to prepare and a full year to complete a series, we now have the track dates confirmed, class structure in place and prizes allotted for the class champions.”
The 2018 Karting Challenge of Florida will be the home of all Vortex ROK classes including Micro ROK, Mini ROK, Junior ROK, Senior ROK, Masters ROK, Shifter ROK and Shifter Masters ROK. Three Briggs LO206 classes will also be including in the class structure: JR-1 for drivers aged 7-11 (Red Slide, 4.5 YDS), JR-2 for drivers aged 12-15 (Yellow slide, 4.5/7.1 YDS) and SR for drivers aged 15 and up (Stock Slide, 4.5/7.1 YDS). KCF will utilize the LO206 national rules structure for 2018 and the Bridgestone YDS tire compound.
With a prize structure already established, each ROK class series champion will receive a Florida Winter Tour ‘Series Ticket’ for free entry to the complete 2019 program, while all class champions in each Briggs divisions will receive a free series entry to the 2019 Karting Challenge of Florida program. Other awards and prizes will be handed out during the year.
“We are working hard to make this one of the best series that is available in the state of Florida,” added Martinez.
